Day 1 at Gymnasium Marienberg

What an amazing day it was, we arrived in Gymnasium Marienberg on 14th night and attended our first class today on 15th may. We went for a guided tour of the town from the school. There was a well planned town square and the guide told us several legends about it, regarding how it was discovered, developing from a dense dark forest to one of the most amazing towns of the time.
Then we went for the lunch where we had loads of fun. Mrs. Silvia Langhoff arranged specially cooked Indian food for us and our German peers. We had pulses, curry, rice and Naan which were really amazing, it felt like home to everyone. After the lunch we were warmly welcomed by the German school and the principal gave a welcome speech. There were trumpets, saxophone, piano, harmonica etc. also the school band was awesome. Each Indian student was welcomed with a t-shirt with the Gymnasium Marienberg logo on it. After the school we went for Seiffen to visit one of the most amazing toy stores of the world. We saw a non-conventional source of energy production. It was like a huge pyramid having blades at the top, we put candles beneath it and when the hot air from candles rise up they rotate the blades consequently rotating the shaft and hence producing electricity in the generator. We then had a coffee at a restaurant and then went to see a 500 hundred year old church. Then we returned home and had our dinner. We played guitar and hanna also taught me some piano. We played UNO after dinner and I gave them the gifts that I brought for them, they were really happy and delighted to receive the gifts. At the end of the day everyone went to the bed and dozed off.
