Trip to Agra by Mridul and Vivien

During this amazing 12-day experience, we got a chance to visit one of the 7 wonders of the world, the Taj, located in Agra. It was a wonderful experience to have seen the monument, understand it’s history and to explore the city.

It was a hot day. We woke up at 4:15 in morning as it. We went there by the bus and left the school around 5 O’clock. Firstly, the students who were feeling sleepy went for a short nap and and soon they woke up and all of us wer enjoying by singing and dancing. It was more like a DJ environment in the bus with Hindi, English and German songs playing together. Then we went to Taj Mahal. Taj Mahal is a monument located in agra in India constructed on 16 CE by a workforce of more than 15,000. The Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan made this as a mausoleum for his favourite wofe Mumtaz Mahal.  It is made up of white marble and it comes into the category of seven wonders of the world. The importance of this building is to emphasize by its raised foundation and by the wide walking and long reflecting pool which lead there from the entrance gateway. After this we stopped to a shop where the shopkeepers had the best of things of agra there which we one can find in their locality as they are unique and are very old and hand made. The second place we visited was Agra Fort which is 3 km away from Taj Mahal. The Lodi dynasty captured the fort and after that the fort came under the Mughal dynasty which was renovated with red sandstone which is brought from Rajasthan. We came to school at 9:20 pm  and it was a hectic day for all the German students as well as for the indian students because of the hot sunshine but we all of us enjoyed a lot and we also got to know new things which our guide told us.
