The students of Bal Bharati Public School, Rohini, Delhi and Gymnasium Marienberg, Saxony had to record the sunshine hours for their respective places. The September at Marienberg was very hot and dry and the average time of sunshine was around 6.2 hours per day. In Delhi, the average was 12.3 hours per day. The sunshine hours in Delhi are nearly double to that of Saxony because of India being a tropical country.

Solar panels

Although solar technology would be more useful in India than in Germany but just a small number of Indian buildings have solar panels on their roofs. In Germany a higher number of the inhabitants receive their electrical energy from the sun using photovoltaic technology. The technology is wide more effective in India because they have 12 hours sunshine the whole year. On the other hand they are only effective in summer in Germany when the sun is more intensive.

Total sunshine hours in the month of September in Germany = 185 hours
