Lotus temple ? by Garima and Alexandra

This Wednesday, we were on the HoHo bus tour. It was an incredible experience to re-experience every corner of Delhi with our German guests. Amongst all the places we visited, the lotus temple was the most fascinating one. It is also known as the Baha’i temple and is in the shape of a lotus. The structure is made up of pure white marble. The architect Furiburz Sabha chose the lotus as the symbol common to Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and Islam. Adherents of any faith are the free to visit the temple or meditate. Around the blooming petals, there are 9 pools of water, which light up, in natural light. It looks spectacular at dusk when flood lit.

Praying in this temple is completely different, you don’t have to sing the usual religious songs but have to remain silent and pray to the almighty.
A visit to this place gives complete peacefulness and mindfulness to a person. On an average 8000 – 10, 000 people visit the Baha’i temple each day.
