After our long journey to Germany, we were warmly welcomed at Gymnasium Marienberg the next morning. Everyone was excited to see their exchange partners again. In the school auditorium, Mr. Huth greeted us with kind words, and we received a school T-shirt as a special gift. There was also music from brass instruments and piano, along with a dance performance, making the welcome very special.
Next, we had a geography lesson where we learned about Germany. We cut out a puzzle of the 16 federal states, put it together, and labeled them. At the end, we played a quiz about Berlin, which was fun and helped us learn more about the capital city.
Later, the German students took us on a tour of Marienberg. They showed us important places like the school, the Red Tower, the church, and the marketplace. Even they learned new facts about their town. A special moment was meeting the mayor, Mr. Heinrich, who told us about local politics, the history of the city, and how it has changed over time.
We ended the day by eating pizza together in a restaurant, enjoying our time and sharing our thoughts about everything we had seen and learned.
In the afternoon, we spent time with our host families. Some of us explored the area, while others relaxed after the long trip. After our long journey to Germany, we were warmly welcomed at Gymnasium Marienberg the next morning.
