Conserving Energy
There is a great energy consumption difference between Germany and India. There is a great need for the use alternative sources of energy in India and Germany. We should become the epitome of using alternative sources of energy because they are much more environment friendly and conserve our natural resources also.
The main source of alternative energy should be solar energy because it’s the most readily available form of energy. The sunshine hours in India is approximately 12.3hrs for the month of September and 5.6Hrs in Germany, which is almost half but enough to produce solar energy to supply to our homes for domestic purposes. The average energy consumed in my house was about 26.73 kWh for the monh of September and it was about 6.28 kWh in Hanna’s house in Germany, which is almost one fourth of the energy consumed here. This much difference is because of the heavy appliances used here India, for e.g., Air Conditioner, geyser, etc. whereas it is cold in Germany and they don’t need to use such hefty appliances in their homes.
Talking about India, it has great potential for producing solar energy but unfortunately it lacks in technology that is the use of photovoltaic cells that convert sunlight into electricity directly. India is developing great pace in the field of alternative sources of energy , the use of solar energy expanded from 2,650 Mega Watt in 2014 to nearly about 20,000 in 2018. This target was set to be achieved in 2022 but it was the hard work and dedication of the Indian government that this target was achieved 4 years ahead of the schedule that we planned.
Advantages of Solar Energy:-
1. Solar power is pollution free and causes no greenhouse gases to be emitted after installation
2. Reduced dependence on foreign oil and fossil fuels
3. Renewable clean power that is available every day of the year, even cloudy days produce some power
4. Solar can be used to heat water, power homes and building, even power cars.
Do you know it’s a great disappointment for the whole world that we are only able to harness 0.001 percent of the energy provided by the Sun, let’s hope that we could use more and more solar energy in future
